The NEXT STEP: The Annett & Tommy Scholarship Program

HOPE Cape Town is grateful to be able to continue and expand the NEXT STEP programme with the support and assistance of Tommy & Annett Matser from Germany.

Too many matriculants in South Africa are not sure what to do after completion of school with Matric. Even when like in Germany study and university is the most desired way forward, finding the right path even in the study subject, but also learning about the alternatives of artisan or vocational training related professions is of essence.

The several month long course gives 50 matriculants the opportunity to learn about different professions, explore some of them practically and via psychometric testing explore their very own talents often hidden behind habits and influences from outside.

HIV, Development and HOPE – thoughts of a Catholic priest

Unknown's avatarBeing a Roman - Catholic priest and working in the fields of HIV and social development in Africa has its challenges. You will find stories and reflections about my work, about the church, South Africa and Africa, about politics and whatever triggers my interest. You are most welcome to leave a comment or to get in touch with me. Blogging means to initiate thoughts and discussions and for the writer to formulate what is loosely running around in the heart and mind in need of being sorted and spoken out.
